OUR ASSOCIATION:
In keeping with the spirit of service instilled by the Sisters of Charity, the AMSV Alumnae Association has been run by a succession of volunteers. The baton passed a few years ago to Jo-Anne Provenzano Olszewski '63 following the death of Laure Clancy '65. Prior to that, Charlotte "Cappy" Poczabut Kane '66 and Judy Waldorf Hopkins '67 kept the fires burning. The speaker at our 2017 luncheon, Mary Niewenhous Gormley '42, also headed the association. And for many years Leah McBride Cherry '63 has managed the auction which takes place at the annual luncheon and has substantially increased the level of giving that the Association channels to the Sisters and their missions.
Thank you too to those unnamed here who have contributed time and resources to keep the school's spirit and friendships alive.

IN THE BEGINNING:
There is a reference on pp. 117-119 in a 1917 publication - COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT - A Famous Convent School - to the formation of an Alumnae Association of the Academy of Mount Saint Vincent-on-Hudson on the occasion of its 50th anniversary in 1896.
